SUMMARY:Authors Isabella and Linda Kay Silva
DESCRIPTION:

We welcome Isabella back with American Yakuza.

Luce Potter straddles three cultures as she strives
to live with the ideals of family\, honor\, and duty. When her grandfather
passes the family business to her\, Luce finds out that power\,
responsibility and justice come with a price. Is it a price she's
willing to die for? Brooke Erickson lives the fast-paced life of an
investigative journalist living on the edge until it all comes crashing
down around her one night in Europe. Stateside\, Brooke learns to deal
with a new reality when she goes to work at a financial magazine and
finds out things aren't always as they seem. Can two women find enough
common ground for love or will their two different worlds and cultures
keep them apart?

&nbsp\;

Along with her will be Linda Kay Silva\, author of the Across Time series\, the Delta Stevens series and the Echo Branson series.

Lucky is her latest release under the name Storm.
Artist Parker Lee has lost her Mojo. Her art is bland\, her energy level
is low and her revolving bedroom door hasn't moved in far too long. And
then Lucky comes into her life.

A 2003 Harley\, Lucky is integral to Parker’s plans to reclaim her Mojo.
Setting off for glorious Lake Tahoe for the summer\, she’s going to focus
on her painting. She doesn’t expect her granddaughter\, Jackson\, to beg
for asylum from a long-running conflict with her stuffy\, conservative
mother.

She also doesn’t expect her ex Ali to track her down\, or for Ali’s
passionate intentions to make Parker forget why they ever broke up. Her
uninhibited attraction to her sexy neighbor-for-the-summer Tricia is
equally disconcerting. Bikers\, babes\, backs\, and badges...the summer is
not going to be anything like she expected.
SUMMARY:Author Patricia Kuess reads from Sweetgrass
DESCRIPTION:

Patricia Kuess was a Bay Area resident until something dark and mysterious took her away. She's temporarily returning this month and will be reading from her new novel Sweetgrass\, Book 1\, Johanthan and Esher.

Easterner Johnathan Traver joined the Union Army to
die a glorious\, crimson death. He feels a valiant death will liberate
him from his abusive boyhood. Yet in April of 1862\, right after the
victory in the battle of Shiloh\, he is still alive while thousands of
others have perished. Sergeant Traver faces a challenge\; he firmly
believes they're fighting a modern war that calls for modern tactics.
Traver's new training techniques could change the course of the Civil
War\, and he teaches them to his squad\, company\, and regiment. But the
army regards his efforts as seditious and views Traver as a traitor. On a
personal level\, Traver's authority could be threatened when he falls in
love with eighteen-year-old Esher Coley\, a new recruit from the West.
As they become warrior companions\, their focus shifts.A profound Civil
War love story that overcomes ingrained pain and heals old wounds\,
&quot\;Sweetgrass\: Book I&quot\; communicates a triumph of the spirit.

SUMMARY:Poetry with Grace Marie Grafton and Gail Entrekin
DESCRIPTION:

We're delighted to have two poets in the Poetic Matrix publishing house join us for an evening of poetry. In addition\, John Peterson\, publisher\, will be on hand to talk about poetry publishing as well as our authors.

Grace Marie Grafton has just released Whimsy\, Reticence &amp\; Laud\, Unruly Sonnets.

&quot\;In these lush sonnets by Grace Grafton\, the wild and the cultivated
often collide. Here the habit of observation and the outcome of wonder
produce a passionate immersion in the sensate pleasures of both
language and being\, where the weathers of the body\, the floats and
drifts of memory\, and the bone and yearn of everyday life intersect
and bring us into a place 'where blue's ease slips in\,' a molten
language captures us\, and laud is a natural response.&quot\;—Tobey Hiller

Grace is the author of four previous collections of poetry. Zero won the 2000 Poetic Matirx Chapbook Contest. She has taught for many years in the California Poets in the Schools program\, for which she was awarded twelve California Arts Council grants. She was named Teacher of the Year by the River of Words annual student poetry contest co-sponsored by Robert Hass.

Grace lives in Oakland.

Gail Entrekin will release Rearrangement of the Invisible this month.

 &quot\;Part-lyric\, part-narrative\, part-novella in verse\, these poems never
stray far from their passionate appetite for life\, fear of the unknown\,
and the titanic thrill and mystery of love. Many of these poems deal
with the subtle realities of cancer diagnosis\, chemo\, the trance
states of illness\, the 'wait and see\,' the 'opposite oceans' of waking
and dreaming\, and the life-defining clarity the threat of death
sharpens. With life's visible stuff blurring the invisible\, still\,
love—ancient\, un-prescribed\, redeeming\, intuitive—lights up the
unseen.&quot\;—Al Young

Gail Rudd Entrekin has an M.A. in English Literature from Ohio State
University and has taught poetry and English literature at California
colleges for 25 years. Her poems have been widely published in anthologies and literary
magazines and were finalists for the Pablo Neruda Prize in Poetry from
Nimrod International Journal in 2011.
