Babies in 2001 are now reading up a storm. First graders then are driving. Third graders then are now starting college. My how time flies.
Our best selling title for 2001 was The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon. There were only four Harry Potter books in existence then. And no movies yet.
We were only 4 days from the terrorist attacks and still unsure about what was going to happen and how to move forward.
We've moved sections around, eliminted what didn't work, added new things, and listened to our customers about what you want to read. There's never a dull day at the store, our customers make it fun to come to work.
And we've evolved. We've added the spiffy new website, enabled the downloading of books, and upgraded our computers.
Some things have stayed the same though. People still love to read, still love to talk about books, and my desk is still a mess.
